I'm Rick James, bitch

I'm Rick James
Originally uploaded by Manicosity.

I got Flickr posting up and working again. Hurrah.

I was trying to make Stevie Wonder but it didn't work out so well. Stevie looked more like Rick James with really ugly sunglasses.

It's a pop sculpture, Charlie Brown!

A conversation with Aaron spawned this one.

Rainbow Brite

I had a Rainbow Brite cake for my 5th birthday. It was the best cake ever. EVER. It was from Henri's Bakery in Atlanta. One day I'll post a picture of it.

Mad updates

Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been swamped lately. I am also having problems uploading from Flickr so I'm posting these the old-fashioned way.

At Nicole's suggestion, I proudly present Snuffleupagus!

Green Monster

This one is dedicated to my favorite member of Red Sox Nation. I decided to make this one because I was homesick for the Sox/Yankees fans who used to break out in fights outside my old apartment.
Oh, Boston you're my home.

P.S. It's too hard to make The Pru.

Gizmo in Play-Doh

Gizmo in Play-Doh

I wasn't allowed to see Gremlins when I was little but I always thought Gizmo was cute. One of my childhood friends thought he was a cat. They were wrong.

I tried to make E.T. so he could stand up, but I didn't have enough Play-Doh.
I also didn't have any beige Play-Doh. Do they even make beige Play-Doh?

Mario in Playdoh

Armed with a 10-pack of more Play-Doh colors, I decided to continue on the video game theme to work on my sculpting skills. This was taken on 8.7.2006.
Everyone needs the classic Mario in their lives.

Day 4, Part Deux: Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high.

This was also made the same day as Pac-Man, on 8.3.06.

Day 4: Pacman

This was inspired by the yellow Play-Doh (from another friend). I inadvertently made a wheel of cheese. When my cubemate told me I needed to make it Swiss cheese, I cut out a slice and decided I needed to relive my youth.

Stress relief
Originally uploaded by Manicosity.

It all started when a co-worker gave me a can of Play-Doh as a thank you for a birthday gift.
I was stressed out so I started messing around with the Play-Doh and decided I needed a hot pink punk rock skull.
Thus, the pop sculptures were born,
